Weather Warning!

We have been issued a weather warning here in Kingston. For the last few days we have been experiencing Snowsqualls. Very cold Arctic air has reached the lower Great Lakes. As a result snow squalls have developed over the areas adjacent to eastern Lake Erie and eastern Lake Ontario. Apparently, it is the same as Lake Effect ie. when arctic air moves over large expanses of warmer open waters in winter, convective clouds develop which cause heavy snow showers due to the large amount of moisture available. This is a term originating from the Great Lakes region. People seem to be very concerned about these snowsqualls, they even slow down when driving, although it doesn't seem to stop the joggers from being out and about.

Brock and I have discovered that the real definition of a snowsquall (in Saskatchewan terms) is a high of -7 and flurries, at times heavy. Pretty nice winter day all in all.

That is too funny! I find that here too, as soon as it snows at all, people just slow down to a crawl and are in first gear the whole way to work. Even though I bet 75% of these people are originally from SK its like they forgot how to drive like back home...I'm glad you're having super weather! ;)

Ha ha ha, I like how you two haven't yet become paranoid Ontario folks. Although I do admit that wet cold is worse than dry cold...however, last week it was -40 with wind chill, and I still think that's worse than -7 wet cold. Stay warm and dry.

PS-all these damb SUV's and they still don't know what to do. Once again, another reason a Queeny should not be allowed a Range Rover. If you don't even know how to use 4-wheel drive when you have it, you shouldn't be allowed to have a $100,000 vehicle with it.

No, it is for IBS with constipation. I have the opposite problem which apparently they don't have a pill for.
