Coming Attractions: D-day, the beginning or the end?

Ok, so tomorrow is my defense. Weeee!!! Should be a fun ride, like one of those roller-coasters where you can never see beyond the next bend, not knowing what to expect and just holding on for dear life.

Here is my new metaphor for Grad School:
Your period is 3 days late (you apply to grad school).
You discover that you are pregnant (take your courses).
Nine months later you go into labour (start writing your thesis).
Finally you give birth (finish writing your thesis).
The baby is healthy and doing well (your committee approves your defense draft).
Your teared cervix is stitched, but you lost a lot of blood so they want to keep you admitted and monitor you for a while (the 3 week wait until your defense date).
The doctor gives your hoo-hoo a final proding before removing the stitches and signing your hospital release forms (your oral defense).
Your girly bits are sore and you turn down sex with Ashley Parker Angel (revisions).
Finally, you 've lost the baby weight, are tempted to reattempt a sex life and realize you now have amazing tits (drop it off at the binder, and pick it up).

I know this sounds like a long and trying process, but once you hold that beautiful baby and it looks into your eyes you will forget all the effort and want another one (You apply for your PhD).
Just remember the second child is always harder. You are a lot older for this process so it is the one that makes you lose your figure for good! Keep in mind people have been doing this for hundreds of years so you can do it!!
